About the Study
The study uses cutting-edge technology and advanced imaging, specifically Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA), to precisely identify heart complications caused by atherosclerosis, the build-up of plaque in the arteries. CCTA is a non-invasive imaging test that provides detailed pictures of the heart and blood vessels, helping clinicians create personalized prevention plans based on each person’s unique risk factors, rather than just traditional health markers.
The research study is looking for individuals without known cardiovascular symptoms but who are at increased risk for atherosclerosis due to factors such as age, Type 2 Diabetes, Pre-Diabetes, or Metabolic Syndrome. The study will compare two approaches: traditional risk factor care and a new method using advanced technology and CCTA for customized detection and prevention of atherosclerosis-related complications.
If you’re concerned about your heart health, this study may be right for you. It will last about 3½ to 5 years and includes cardiovascular evaluations, CCTA imaging, surveys, laboratory tests, and other medical exams. There is no cost to participate, and you may receive reimbursement for transportation and time.
