Do you suffer from Chronic Low Back Pain?
A new research study is evaluating a no-cost, investigational procedure that may help relieve symptoms caused by lumbar discogenic pain associated with degenerative disc disease, a common cause of persistent low back pain.
Is Degenerative Disc Disease Limiting Your Life?
Chronic low back pain (cLBP) affects millions of adults and is often linked to degeneration of the intervertebral discs — the structures that cushion your spine and allow it to move. Over time, the discs lose their natural hydration and flexibility, which can lead to stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility.
The study is testing a new treatment that involves a single injection of VIA Disc NP, a therapy made from donated disc tissue. The VIA Disc product helps the disc stay hydrated and cushion the spine. The goal is to improve the health of the damaged disc and reduce pain caused by degenerative disc disease.
If you’ve experienced persistent low back pain for more than six months and haven’t found relief with conservative treatments, you may qualify for this study. All study-related care is provided at no cost.
FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA
- •Are 22 to 85 years of age
- •Have had low back pain for at least 6 months
- •Have not had lumbosacral spine surgery
- •Are not pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant
About the Study
Chronic Lumbar Disc Disease (cLDD) is a condition where the discs between the bones in your lower back start to break down, often causing long-term back pain, stiffness, and limited movement. For some people, common treatments like physical therapy, medications, or injections do not provide lasting relief.
This study is testing an investigational treatment called VIA Disc NP, which is made from donor disc tissue. It’s designed to be injected into a damaged lumbar disc to help improve hydration and cushioning in the spine. The goal is to reduce pain and improve function by supplementing and cushioning the disc.
Some participants will receive a sham procedure instead of the treatment at first, but may be eligible to receive the actual injection later in the study if certain conditions are met.
The study lasts about 26 months. Most visits occur within the first 6 months after the injection, with follow-ups at 1 year and 2 years, plus periodic phone check-ins. Study-related exams may include MRIs, X-rays, lab work, and health questionnaires. There is no cost to participate, and you may be compensated for your time and travel.
Why Participate?
If you’re struggling with Chronic Low Back Pain, and conservative treatments have failed to alleviate your discomfort, you may qualify for a new research study, now being offered at select centers throughout the U.S. The study is for a single injection into the disc of an investigational treatment designed to relieve symptoms caused by Chronic Lumbar Disc Disease (cLDD).
No-cost Study Care
You will receive study-related care from experienced doctors, nurses, and research staff.
Exams
The study will include physical examinations, surveys, laboratory work, MRIs, X-rays, and other examination visits with a trained investigator.
Compensation
You might be eligible to receive compensation for your time and travel.
