Help Protect Infants Against Pneumococcal Disease

Learn about no-cost study evaluating a new vaccine that may to help protect babies from common and serious infections like ear infections, pneumonia, and meningitis.

What is Pneumococcal Disease?

Pneumococcal disease is caused by a type of bacteria that can lead to infections such as ear infections, pneumonia, blood infections, and meningitis.

These infections are especially serious in young children and infants because their immune systems are still developing. Even common illnesses like ear infections can sometimes lead to hospital stays or long-term health problems.

Pneumococcal bacteria spread easily through coughing, sneezing, or close contact. Vaccines are the best way to help protect children from these infections.

About the Study

Pneumococcal disease can cause ear infections, pneumonia, blood infections, and meningitis in young children. Vaccines are the best protection, and this study is testing a new option to provide broader coverage.

In this study, babies will receive either the investigational 21-valent pneumococcal vaccine (PCV21) or Prevnar 20, a vaccine already approved for use.

Your child will also receive all routine childhood vaccines such as DTaP, Hib, Hepatitis B, Polio, and Rotavirus on schedule at no cost. This ensures their regular protection continues.

Participants will get four doses of pneumococcal vaccine at 2, 4, 6, and 12 to 15 months of age, with follow-up visits. Study care is provided at no cost, and compensation may be available for time and travel.

Why Participate?

If your baby qualifies and you choose to participate, they will receive:

No-cost Study Care
