Do you have
Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease (COPD)?

Learn about a no-cost research study that might help prevent flare-ups and severe heart problems caused by COPD.

Do you struggle
with COPD?

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a life-threatening inflammatory lung condition characterized by blocked airways, resulting in symptoms such as mucus-producing cough, wheezing, and shortness of breath. Sudden worsening of these symptoms, called exacerbations or flare-ups, can result in severe lung and heart complications, including death.

If you have COPD, you may qualify for a global research study comparing two FDA-approved inhalers. One of these inhalers contains a triple therapy, which includes inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). The study aims to demonstrate that this combined treatment has the potential to relieve COPD symptoms, reduce flare-ups, and lower the risk of severe heart events.

The study is available at select centers across the U.S. Participants who qualify will receive comprehensive study-related care at no cost. Reimbursement for travel and time may also be available.

Fill out the form below if you meet the following criteria

  • Are between 40 to 80 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with COPD and have heart problems or are at risk of having them
  • Have not used an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) in the past 12 months
  • Are a current smoker or a former smoker
  • Are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant

About the Study

People with COPD face a higher risk of serious heart issues compared to those without the condition. Inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) can help prevent COPD flare-ups, and it is believed that combination treatments with ICS may also reduce the risk of heart events such as heart failure and heart attacks.

This trial compares two FDA-approved inhalers: one with ICS and one without. The study aims to determine which inhaler is more effective at preventing COPD flare-ups and heart problems. The study will last between 3 months and 3 years, with participants using the inhaler twice daily.

The study includes trial-related medical examinations, physical exams, lung function tests, heart evaluations, laboratory tests, and assessments by medical professionals. There is no cost to participate, and participants may receive reimbursement for transportation and time.

Why Participate?

If you are struggling with COPD, you may be eligible for a new research study available at select centers across the U.S. The study compares two FDA-approved inhalers that help ease COPD symptoms and potentially prevent heart events.
