New Research Study for Foot or Leg Wounds That Won’t Heal
Learn about a no-cost research study for people with sores or open wounds on the foot or lower leg that have not healed with regular care.
Has a Foot or Leg Wound Been Open Longer Than Expected?
Foot and leg wounds that do not heal can be painful and serious. These sores may stay open for weeks or months and can slowly get worse instead of better.
They are often linked to diabetes, poor blood flow, nerve damage, or swelling in the feet or legs. When circulation or feeling is reduced, wounds can heal very slowly and are more likely to become infected.
If you have a wound on your foot or lower leg that has not healed, you may be able to take part in a clinical research study evaluating a special investigational wound covering used with standard care. The goal is to help protect long-lasting wounds and reduce the chance they get worse.
The study is being conducted at select locations across the U.S. If you qualify, all study-related care is provided at no cost, and compensation for time and travel may be available.
FILL OUT THE FORM IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA
• Are 21 years of age or older
• Have a wound or sore on your foot or lower leg that has not healed for several weeks or longer
• May have diabetes, circulation problems, or swelling related to the wound
• Do not smoke or use nicotine products

About the Study
The study lasts up to about 3 to 4 months and includes weekly clinic visits. During the study, your wound will be cleaned, measured, photographed, and treated by the study team. Depending on the type of wound, you may also be asked to use a protective boot or compression wrap to reduce pressure or swelling.
Participation in the study is at no cost. All study-related visits, wound care, imaging, lab tests, and procedures are provided at no cost. Compensation for time and travel may be available for those who qualify.
Why Participate?
