Struggling with Opioid Dependence?

Learn about a study for people with Opioid Use Disorder. (OUD).

Understanding Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)

Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) is a serious medical condition caused by ongoing use of opioids, whether prescription medications like oxycodone or hydrocodone, or illicit drugs such as heroin. It often includes intense cravings, physical dependence, withdrawal symptoms, and disruption to everyday life, relationships, and health. Effective treatment usually combines medication with counseling and support to manage symptoms and improve outcomes.

This clinical research study is evaluating a new injectable form of buprenorphine. Participants will receive inpatient care and a single-dose of either an approved or investigational version of the medication. The study is designed to compare how each version is processed in the body.

All study-related care is provided at no cost. This includes inpatient detox monitoring, medication to manage withdrawal symptoms if needed, and counseling and support throughout the stay.

FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA

  • Are 18 to 65 years of age
  • Have moderate to severe opioid use disorder (OUD)
  • Physical dependency on opioids, whether legal or illegal
  • Are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant

About the Study

This clinical research study is evaluating an investigational version of an approved injectable medication (buprenorphine) used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD).

The purpose of the study is to compare how the investigational product and the approved product behave in the body to determine whether they deliver the same amount of medication into the bloodstream.

The study will last up to 7 weeks. It includes a 5-day inpatient stay for observation following the injection, followed by scheduled clinic visits and follow-up check-ins.

Participants will receive study-related physical exams, lab testing, ECGs, health questionnaires, and medical assessments. There is no cost to participate, and compensation may be available for time and travel.

Why Participate?

If you’re living with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), you may qualify for a new research study now enrolling at select U.S. clinics. This study compares two versions of a medication used for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). The goal is to determine whether both versions deliver the same amount of medication into the bloodstream.

No-cost Study Care

You will receive study-related care from experienced doctors, nurses, and research staff.

Exams

The study will include physical examinations, laboratory work, ECG, questionnaires and other examination visits with a trained investigator.

Compensation

You might be eligible to receive compensation for your time and travel.
